Anagallis arvensis (Primulaceae)

[ssp. arvensis, var. pallida]

White Pimpernel

Sprawling glabrous annual with sharply angular stems and opposite, sessile ovate leaves. Flowers white with a tinge of purple towards the base of the corolla. Recorded in Meikle (pp. 1085) but location listed as "Unknown". See also the much more common blue-flowered A. arvensis arvensis [ssp. foemina].

Found as a weed on gravelled ground at Corallia Bay. Apparently a single plant!
