Loosely tufted perennial, 20-50 cm high, with a woody rootstock. Basal leaves obovate, 2-5 cm long, purplish. Cauline leaves ovate almost sessile. Flowers pale pink, petals deeply divided. Calyx 10-veined.

Rocky slopes under pines, roadsides. Mostly on igneous rock.

Cyprus endemic species.
